Evidence of a good time

I can't believe it flew by so quickly. One minute we were putting out snacks for Santa and the reindeers and the next, here I am the day after boxing day feeling almost like I blinked and missed it! I suppose when you're having lots of fun with family around it does pass quickly, but somehow this Christmas seems to have been and gone quicker than ever!
That said, Beth was delighted that all of the snacks she laid out were eaten, and we all had some super duper pressies to open and enjoy, and spent Christmas day and Boxing day surrounded with our wonderful family, having lots of fun and laughter....and yummy food!

Christmas Eve

The gifts are bought/made and wrapped, the baking is done, and the food shopping has all been stored away for the next few days, all that remains for us to do is wait for Santa!

This year is special as it's my niece Caitlin's first Christmas...I wonder what she'll make of it all?

We're gonna head off to Looe in a little while for our traditional family gathering for a walk on the beach and fish 'n' chips lunch together..yum!

Wishing everyone a very happy, safe and warm Christmas xx

Smells like Christmas

I've just been making cranberry and orange relish and my kitchen smells so Christmassy, it's just gorgeous!

That's all for today!

Messy

This is what my craft space looks like a the moment...it's a bit of a tip! I've got loads of stuff piled high on the floor too! I really need to have a big tidy up, but don't seem to want to make the time to do it, which is silly really coz I hate it being in such a mess.
My December scrapagogo kit arrived today...it is fabulous as always! Thanks Lorraine and Janice!

Hmmm Christmas cards

Whilst I'm feeling quite organised for Christmas this year, I have not made very many cards yet! In fact, I think I'm gonna be buying some....the shame of it!
Actually I'm not gonna feel guilty about buying a few, since it will free up some time to spend doing nice Christmassy stuff with the rest of the family and catching up with my scrapbooking.
Here are 2 that I have made though, for my niece and nephew. I love this range of papers...it's Colourful Christmas from My Minds Eye.

Reindeer Food

Beth loves to make reindeer food, so here she is making it.

And here's the end result!

I've been to my first party this Christmas today...good fun it was too...not sure I'll feel the same way after the third or forth, but hey ho, it's only once a year!

Got the lurgy!

A quick post for a quick moan coz I'm feelin sorry for myself! I've had a cold on and off for the past four weeks and I'm getting really tired of it now! I feel grotty, and tired and miserable! I've not done any crafting at all this week, so I'm hoping to make a start on the calendar I'm making for my parents tomorrow...

Snorkel

I took the kids I childmind to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth today...we go quite often to see various exhibits, but beyond doubt our favourite is the gorgeous loggerhead turtle called snorkel (pictured above!)
We had a great day, and all went home tired, so mission accomplished today!

Oh yeah! Finally got some scrapping done

I've had the past three scrapagogo kits in my craft room all unused...until this weekend, when finally I got some time and inspiration to cut into all three of them and do a few layouts......

I'm hoping (fingers crossed) to get a bit more done this evening, watch this space....

Time

Just a quickie to ponder how time flies so fast? I seem to have loads of good intentions to use my spare time wisely and be creative, but somehow by the end of the working day family life takes over and before I know it it's bed time again! If anyone has any suggestions on how to 'manage' spare time usefully I'd be really pleased to hear them!

I received my latest scrapagogo kit yesterday, and since I have the last two months kits unused, I figured that I seriously need to lock myself in the craft room and not come out until I have made at least one layout from each kit!!

Watch this space.......

A few piccies

We took over 1000 photo's on holiday, but here are just a few!

I'm back!

We just got back from an amazing, fabulous, superb family holiday in Florida. We had two glorious weeks there with fab (hot) weather, great (lots) of yummy food, and fun filled days at excellent theme parks. The villa was just perfect, oh, and we managed a fair bit of shopping too!

I'm hopefully gonna get the photo's (hundreds!) downloaded in the next couple of days, so will post a few on the blog soon(ish!)

AWOL

You can tell I'm back working after the summer break...I haven't blogged for almost two weeks!
I've been busy getting myself and the rest of the family back into work/school routines...it's pants!

I've only managed to spend a very short time scrapping, and made this....

We were planning going to the beach today as it's so sunny, but the surf report says it's gonna be pretty flat so we're heading out for a walk after lunch instead , hopefully going to Lydford Gorge.

Tomorrow I plan to get some scrapping done......hopefully!

Tired and sore!

We've managed to get to the beach a few times this past couple of weeks and done lots of body boarding and I'm definitely feeling my age now!!! I've got grazed knees, arms and sore hands from friction burns! We've had a great time though, so I shouldn't grumble.

Managed to find time to do a bit of scrapping though...

Waves

Just a quickie.

We went to the beach today (Harlyn) and had a brilliant time boarding...the waves were awesome today and we really made the most of it spending about 5 hours in the water!
I was gutted that I hadn't taken my camera, but hey ho, never mind.

I finally managed to get some scrapping done today....woohoo!
This one is for challenge #011 at Twisted sketches

Fireworks

Last night we went to watch the first of the two night national fireworks competition in Plymouth. The fireworks are lit on a pier just in front of Plymouth Hoe, but you an also view them from Mount Edgecumbe which is where we decided to head to, armed with camping chairs, cameras and tripods and a nice little picnic. We took sweaters, but did feel the cold a bit, so next year I think we'd better take coats as well!, but we had a great time and Dan and Lyndon managed to get some pretty nice photos too.

Road Trip

We've been away for the past ten days visiting family and friends.... a trip by car that took us from Cornwall - London - Lancashire - Nottinghamshire - and back home to Cornwall. We covered a few miles and had a great time in every place we visited, catching up, laughing, eating and drinking way too much! So it's back to home life now, which means laundry, cooking, cleaning etc, with hopefully the odd couple of days camping in between (as long as it's sunny though!)

I did this quick LO before we went....

I'm gonna try to get a bit of scrapping done later....got some challenges I want to take part in.

Weee man

This is ....weee (waste electical and elecronic equipment) man at Eden Project. It's a photo from last summer, but he is still there if you want to go and see him.

Catch of the day

We were gonna go swimming today, but decided on a trip to Looe to see if we could catch some crabs...and we did, in fact we filled 2 buckets with the little nippers.
Also managed some lunch out and an ice-cream, and it didn't rain until we were back at the car...result! We noticed a sale of 25% off 'animal' clothing in one of the shops there and managed to come out with 4 pairs of shorts and 2 t-shirts for the kids, so all in all a pretty good day.

Scarlet

This is one of Beth's many build a bears...she's a bit of an addict!
I challenged myself to see how quickly I could put a layout together...this one took just 20 minutes!

Colour combos #129

Wow, third post in one day!!!!
Just a quickie though...this my take on this week colour combos challenge blog.

Twisted sketch #007

In addition to the sketch the brief was to use buttons or brads. I've had this chipboard smiley face for ages and never found an opportunity to use it..until now!

Surfs up

Just a couple of photo's from our day at the beach on Saturday. Dan had fun surfing with his mate and Beth had a great time on her body board...with a bit of help from daddy! She is getting better at doing it on her own now though. Me? Well I sat a read my Brits guide to Orlando...planning for October already!

Introducing...

Baby Caitlin! My sweet, adorable new baby niece born on Sunday 19th July.

This layout is my take on the challenge over at Mix it up. Using mainly white to do a monochromatic layout. I'm delighted with the result and will more almost all white layouts in the future.

Scraplift

I saw a really cool layout that I liked in the reader gallery of scrapbook inspirations this month,
by Jenny Cragg.....

Here's my version.....

I don't often do scraplifts, but love the way this turned out.
We were going crabbing today, but it just keeps on raining heavily so, another lazy day at home I reckon. Beth is not feeling too great either, so she's tucked up on the sofa with a movie and a bucket of popcorn, so I guess it'll be a bit more scrapping time for me!

Woohoo...summer break!

Well, I'm finally on holiday for the summer break.....a full six weeks! After a visit to the local art shop this morning to get acrylic paints and A3 pads and canvases for Dan and Beth, I have spent quite a lot of today scrapping (mainly last summer's photo's).

Weather permitting tomorrow, we are going crabbing, and then over the weekend we are going surfing/boogie boarding.

Anyway, this weeks challenge at pencil lines was really good, so here's my take on their sketch...

It's me and my gorgeous lil' nephew. He is NEVER still, so to get this photo of him being still was so great...it was on the tree top walk at Kew gardens last summer.
I'm really enjoying stitching on layouts at the moment, and find the bazzill stitching templates a really great guide.
This next LO is also from photo's taken on the same day......

Wonder

I did this LO for this week's challenge over at Twisted sketches , the sketch has two landscape photo's on, but I used one portrait instead. You also had to use at least one rubber stamp, so I stamped and cut out the star.
This is the only scrappin' I have done this week. I've been busy working and also not felt really very well, but nothing I can really put my finger on...just feelin' lethargic I suppose!
Dan has completed and his scuba diving course for challenge week at school and loved it.
Beth has finished school now for the summer break and will go back in Sept to year five.
I finish work on Tues next week, and also have a full six week summer break...yahooooo! It will be great to spend time with my own kids instead of other peoples!!
Anyhow, off to make nachos and fajitas, and gonna watch a movie with my guys tonight... see ya!

Peek a Boo!

This is my take on sketch 143 from Pencil Lines
It's a great way to use up tiny scraps!

I've had a pretty tiring day, but still managed a bit of scrapping, so I'm a happy bunny!

Dan started his 'challenge week' at school and is learning to scuba dive...he enjoyed his first day today, and is looking forwards to the rest of the course.

That's it for now! Bye x

Puddle jumping

I'm quite pleased with this layout...

It's for the mojoholder challenge 117.

It's my super cute nephew Ethan at Kew Gardens last summer...he couldn't resist a spot of puddle jumping, much to my sister's dismay!

Colour challenge

I created this layout for the Color Combos #128 challenge.

It looks a bit out of place in July, but the piccie fitted the colour scheme so I went with it...even if it is out of season!

Pencil lines 142

Here's my take on this weeks sketch over at pencil lines.

I've used a bit more of my scrapagogo kit....I was really pleased when it arrived because I knew I had some great photos to match in with the colour scheme.

I'm looking forward to the next kit already.

Scrapagogo June Kit

I love the scrapagogo June kit...such great colour combos.

I've done 2 layouts with the kit so far...
